About

Alive Drumming is the organisation behind Song Rhythm Tracks, high-quality backing tracks, and music technology developed by Itchy Studios.

The new website

This site, alivedrumming.itchy.studio, brings together the work previously presented across:

Song Rhythm Tracks

Song Rhythm Tracks began as a music technology platform for creating rhythmic backing tracks from a large catalogue of studio drummer recordings. The core idea was to let musicians generate a new backing track by choosing both an arrangement and an underlying rhythm, producing a realistic result with strong musical energy and useful arrangement metadata.

The platform eventually included a main arranger app for iPhone and iPad, along with four sampler apps that packaged the same technology with factory demo tracks. Those sampler apps revealed an important insight: users enjoyed playing high-quality prebuilt tracks, but most were less interested in arranging new ones themselves.

The shift to NetTracks

As the server-side cost of the original arranger model became harder to justify, and user behaviour pointed more strongly toward ready-made tracks, the focus shifted toward streaming. That led to NetTracks, a platform built to deliver pre-arranged backing tracks through a player specifically designed for musicians working with backing tracks.

NetTracks later expanded beyond Song Rhythm Tracks material to support third-party catalogues as well. The longer-term direction is a marketplace model that combines a strong playback experience with catalogue distribution for multiple backing-track vendors.

Current focus

Today, the main focus is NetTracks as a streaming and white-label platform for backing-track catalogues. The product is available on Apple platforms and is intended to expand further across additional device categories.

Alive Drumming is interested in working with catalogue owners who want a better platform for streaming and presenting their backing tracks.
